Westlawn Cemetery
31472 Michigan Avenue
Wayne, MI 48185

Westlawn Cemetery is today a predominately African-American cemetery. It appears to have been opened in the 1920's or early 1930's. Most of the stones are readable and many have pictures on them of their loved one who is buried here. There seems to be a seperate section, named "baby tear" that has been used for infant and children burials. Entertainer and Singer, Jackie Wilson is buried here. Although, I mentioned today it is primarily African-American, originally the burials were of any race. The sexton's office is very helpful and respond quickly to inquires. It is currently an active and open cemetery, still preforming burials.

some stones transcribed by: Linda Ball, others submitted. If you have friends or family buried in Westlawn Cemetery, and would like to have them submitted to this page, please email us. (last update: Aug 2006)
